지금 까지는 도시 전략 자체가

벤쿠버는 다운타운 벤쿠버만 고밀화 하고

나머지는 그대로 보기 좋게 어반 포레스트 만들어가면서 차라리 메트로 벤쿠버를 키우자 였음.

그래서 20년 사이에 버나비, 써리, 코퀴, 랭리 까지 엄청 큰거고

써리는 30년 내에 벤쿠버 인구를 추월하고

버나비는 50년 안에 다운타운을 넘볼만한 시티센터를 만들겠다 라는 얘기가 나온거임.

거시 경제적인 요인도 있었지만 수요는 엄청 높은데 공급이 딸리니까 벤쿠버 땅값이 천정부지로 치솟았던것임.

근데 벤쿠버 시티가 이제 드디어 전략을 수정했음.

브로드웨이 고밀화 - 5만명 + 42,000 신규 직업 창출

캠비 코리도어 - 5만명 + 23,500 신규 직업 창출

3. 제리코 게리슨 - 18,000명

4. Mount Pleasant (공업지대) 일부 오피스화 - 3500개의 신규 직업 창출

5. 스쿼미시 랜즈 개발 + 몰슨 브루어리 재개발 - 9000명 + 3000명

6. 테크 경제 붐

제 2 아마존 본사 - 9000명 채용

마소 벤쿠버 오피스 확장 - 총 1700 명 채용

사실상 제 2의 EA 본사

현재 EA 버나비 캠퍼스 - 1300명

EA 캠퍼스 벤쿠버로 확장 - 2000명

이 외에 쇼피파이도 1000명 규모 오피스 만들 예정.

현재 캐나다 유니콘 시가총액 1위 Dapper Labs,

캐나다 바이오테크 시가총액 1위 AbCellera 모두 벤쿠버에서 빠르게 확장중.

미래 에너지 유망주 General Fusion,Carbon Engineering, Ballard Power Systems 도 벤쿠버 안으로 자리를 잡는 동시에

UK와 미국으로 빠르게 확장중.
